A Life Devoted to
Children

Robin Weseen's story is one of boundless love – for her family, her friends, for books, and for the countless children whose lives she touched during her remarkable 20-year career as an elementary school librarian.

Her greatest joy came from watching young minds discover the magic of reading, whether it was her own 11 grandchildren or the hundreds of students who walked through her library doors each day.

A Grandmother's Love

Robin's heart was filled with love for her 11 grandchildren, including, Callie, Winnie, Robert, Margaret, Audrey, Charlie, Boyd, Duke, Mavis, Mia, and Bella. Each child held a special place in her heart, and she made sure every one of them knew the joy of reading.

Creating Readers, One Story at a Time

Robin understood that each child was unique. She carefully selected books that matched each grandchild's interests and reading level, from picture books about dinosaurs for the little ones to adventure novels for the older kids.

"Grandma gave the best snuggles which is why a comfy nest is perfect to remember her by."

-Callie and Winnie

Her home was filled with books in every corner – a treasure trove where her grandchildren could always find something new to discover. She believed that surrounding children with books was the first step in creating lifelong readers.

20 Years of Inspiring

Her Library Philosophy

Robin believed that a school library should be more than just a room with books – it should be a sanctuary where children felt safe to explore, dream, and discover. She created cozy reading corners, organized engaging book clubs, and always had time to help a child find the perfect story.

"Mrs. Weseen didn't just check out books to us – she opened doorways to new worlds and helped us believe we could be anything we wanted to be."

- Former student

Her colleagues often marveled at her ability to match any child with a book they would love. She knew her students' interests, reading levels, and personalities, treating each library visit as an opportunity to nurture a lifelong love of reading.

A Legacy Lives On

Though Robin is no longer with us, her passion for connecting children with books continues through The Robin's Nest Project, created by her loving family to honor her memory.

From Family Love to Community Impact

Robin's grandchildren, now ranging from toddlers to teenagers, remember the countless hours she spent reading with them, the excitement in her voice when she discovered a new book, and the way her eyes lit up when talking about her students.

Inspired by her dedication to both family and education, Robin's Nest Project was created to ensure that other children would have the same opportunities to fall in love with reading that Robin provided for them and her students.

Every reading nook we create carries forward Robin's belief that every child deserves a magical place to discover the wonder of books – just like she created for her own grandchildren and students every single day.
